New Seasons Revival
New Seasons Revival
Finally, a song that needs no explanation -- it’s just common sense that someone would write a song about New Seasons. If you like good food, and particularly fresh and local produce, New Seasons Market can’t really be topped. This week we get a little spirit-filled, with a song entitled “New Seasons Revival.” The song was intended to be something of a gospel tune, but it turns out I’m not great at writing gospel. So it’s a bit of a hodgepodge, with some gospel-like elements and a sermon at the end. I’m still trying to figure out how the audio from my microphone talks to my new computer, so there may be a couple of sound issues, but this one is straight from the heart: New Seasons is a Portland original, and something for our city to be proud of. Where else do you get to know exactly where your food comes from? New Seasons is half grocery store, half farmers market, but 100% fantastic.
Lyrics:
When you need something that’s fresh--
Something that’s local, too--
When you’re in the mood to find
Some unbelievable food,
Take yourself to New Seasons:
Friendly, fast and fun.
It’s a Portland original,
Come and shout, “Hallelujah!”
From the dust of Nature’s
Comes something even better.
The produce is sensational:
Perfect to the letter.
The people here, they really care,
There’s something for everyone.
Good people, great food, and Portland’s own,
Come and shout, “Hallelujah!”
Ain’t no time to waste when you need your groceries.
We’ve got products and service that are sure to please.
Nine locations to serve you, and two more by next year.
Looking for culinary redemption? We’ve got it on sale here!
Check out the local meat
In the butcher shop.
How ‘bout fresh-baked goods
To make a person’s jaw drop?
If the environment is your gospel,
New Seasons is your church.
Never seen such a tasty sermon!
Come and shout, “Hallelujah!”
[The revival continues…]
