Mike And Amy
Mike And Amy
I’m cheating once again this week, having been out of town (without equipment) until just this afternoon. But this song is one I wrote and recorded back in May, when I was interviewed on the Mike and Amy show on 99.5 FM The Wolf about the Portland Songs project. The song, “Mike And Amy,” is a shameless promotional piece for the Mike and Amy show. All things being equal, would I have necessarily written a Portland song about the Mike and Amy show (given that I’m not what you’d call a faithful listener of 99.5)? No, probably not. But all things were not equal -- they had me on the show! You can visit the Portland Songs Press page to hear the whole interview if you’re so inclined.
Lyrics:
Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy on 99.5!
Groggy in the morning, I turn on my favorite station.
I need someone to help me -- I need a sense sensation.
From 6 to 10 they’re with me, wakin’ me up right.
Mike and Amy, thank you! The perfect ending to my night.
Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy on 99.5!
Amy has her country tidbits, and Mike keeps up the mood --
Never been so happy to have a Wolf in the neighborhood.
So don’t touch that dial, ‘cause you know what I like.
Nothin’ comes between this guy and his Amy and Mike.
Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy on 99.5!
So if you still don’t believe Mike and Amy are the best
You don’t have to take it from me -- just check out their guests...

Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy, Mike and Amy on 99.5!
